Wow - only 9 entries left until Christmas. Tonight, I want to share 3 wonderful Christmas tunes to get you in the holiday spirit.
First, possibly the worst country Christmas song of all time - "Thistlehair, The Christmas Bear".
Yes - it's by Alabama. And, no - it is not on youtube or anywhere else I could find it to allow you to sample it here. Be glad - it's pure torture.
UPDATE! Listen to it and read all of the lyrics here!!!!
Here are some lyrics to get you in the spirit:
Oh, Thistlehair the Christmas bear
Spreadin’ the good news everywhere
About Christmastime and what it means
To all the children of the world
Every little boy and girl out there
As someone on the radio once said - this song appears to have been recorded with instruments bought at Freds.
Second - the track that absolutely grates on my nerves more than any other:
"Jingle Bells" by Barbra Streisand
Yes - it's fast. Yes - she can sing. But, she utterly destroys this song by taking it at such a fast clip.
Finally, we have the weirdest song out there - "Frosty the Snowman" by Nat King Cole. I love Nat King Cole and his part is great. It's the weird Chipmunk sounding accompaniment that really seems out of place, but in fact pre-dates the Chipmunks by eight years! How could anyone in the studio think this sounded good at the time?
